Wireless Turn Key Solution
Cellular providers are often looking to enhance their coverage area or upgrade their current network. This is where GTEC plays a vital role. GTEC knows the ins and outs of the Wireless process. Below GTEC outlines the Wireless process from A thru Z:
This process will examine the Cellular providers need to expand coverage to eliminate dead spots. (Some of these processes are concurrent)

- Identify the dead spot and the cause for the dead spot. i.e.- distance, interference from buildings, etc.
- Once the cause is identified, GTEC sends a team of RF Engineers out to categorize Search Ring Candidates (SRC’s). SRC’s are potential locations for new cell sites that will enhance the coverage area and eliminate the dead spot. They are categorized with letters (i.e.- A, B, C, etc.). SRC A is the ideal site location; B is the second best, and so on.
- Now that the Engineering team has identified where they prefer the site built; GTEC will examine the leasing feasibility of these sites. The Site Acquisition team will identify which candidates have space or a landlord willing to negotiate.
- Site visits will be setup to perform a constructability examination or Tech Team Visit (TTV). This team includes a Site Acquisition Specialist (SA), Construction Manager (CM), A&E firm, and an Engineer. The purpose of the TTV is to ensure the space offered by the landlord meets the needs of the Engineer & CM. Further, the SA/Leasing representative will determine any potential zoning requirements and potential land surveys (if it is a raw land/new site or if any new land must be disturbed). The A&E rep will sketch the site and produce a set of drawings to provide the client and team with an accurate representation of the new and existing equipment at the site.
- Once the TTV is complete and all team members agree the site is a viable candidate, lease negotiations can be firmed up and put in writing.
- The CM will hold a Bid Meeting with prospective contractors from the client’s approved list. GTEC will utilize a minimum of three (3) contractors per site to ensure a quality bid for the client. Once GTEC receives the Bid’s, they will be reviewed and we will provide a recommendation based on price, current contractor workload, and past performance of the contractor’s. The recommendation will be presented to the client and once they have signed off, the process will be complete.
- The CM and the Contractor will determine the Telco (T1) requirements for the site. In addition, they will locate the where to pull power for the site. During the construction/installation phase of Telco and Power they will perform a series of tests to ensure each is functioning properly.
- The CM will coordinate with the SA, Leasing, and Zoning team and procure any permits, surveys, or other documents needed prior to construction.
- During construction the CM will be responsible for noting any deviations from the A&E drawings by means of “Red-Lines.” Review site construction with the Client. Client to create Punch List
- CM and contractor to address any/all Punch List items. Client Final review and sign off. Submit Red-Line drawings to client (upon request).
